Fully Reconditioned 1960s Theatre Lantern
This is an original Mk1 Patt 123 made by Strand Electric in their Covent Garden works. The lantern is superbly engineered, and features a die cast ventilated body, 360 degree rotation with an iconic egg shaped design. It has been re-purposed in our workshops on the Roseland in Cornwall, these lamps will be noticed in any room and create a real talking point!
It is a genuine and original piece of theatre history, and does show signs of it’s working life. It is not flawless and brand-new but has its own unique patina. The body has been professionally plated to a copper finish and polished to a high gloss. It has then been lacquered to protect the finish and shine. Internally the lantern has been converted to take a domestic Edison Screw LED lamp. It is fitted with cloth covered flex cable, with an in-line switch and moulded plug. It has been tested for electrical safety
The Patt 123 is a fresnel spotlight and gives a wide soft edged beam for highlighting walls or ceilings. Colour filters can be added in a frame fitted to the runners at the front to create mood lighting. Alternatively we can supply a multi colour LED Lamp which will enable you to remotely control the colour density.
The Lantern is displayed on a wooden base stand but can also be suspended from a ceiling fitting, or wall bracket or mounted on a handmade classic wooden tripod floor stand – please call us to discuss your requirements.
