STRAND STAGE PROFILE

PATT 264 / 263 1000 WATT

1965-76

Designed by Fred Bentham and Roderick MacKenzie , introduced in 1965 it made its first appearance in Richard Pilbrow’s lighting design for Lionel Bart’s Blitz!. The Patt 264was a 1kW profile spotlight with a 17° beam angle with a base up 1000w T4 Halogen lamp tilted to an angle of 30° as it entered the faceted ellipsoidal reflector – designed by Mackenzie with a slide rule

It has two sets of built-in masking shutters one set, in focus, for hard-edges and another alternative set, out of focus, for soft-edges. It was possible to arrange the shutters with a mixture of sharp-edged and soft-edged shutter cuts – perfect for keeping the light off scenery while gently blending beams together across the stage
